Early Years[]
When he and Hinata were little, they performed on the streets. Before they were talented enough to make good money, an owner of a Chinese restaurant would give them things like food. He also taught them about acrobatics.[1] Hinata and Yuta affectionately refer to him as their Master.
Once when they were younger, around Christmas time, Hinata left home with the intention of disappearing, believing that Yuta would be better off without him. After they both were told hurtful things by their father, about how it's creepy how he can't tell them apart, and that they were like monsters, Hinata internalized the belief that Yuta wouldn't be subject to such things if he didn't exist, and left with this in mind. He left a farewell note behind, but Yuta came looking for him. Upon finding him, he threw a cheap convenience store Christmas cake at Hinata in a fit of anger, but he missed and it splattered all over the street.[2]

The calm yet mischievous younger twin, Yuta is always seen with Hinata. Loved by his older twin, he often gets pushed around.
He has a different opinion than Hinata when it comes to 2wink's course of action. While Hinata wants to make the best use of the fact that they're twins, Yuta wishes to be independent instead. Outside of the unit, he gets along with Hinata in the Light Music Club, to the extent where they swap musical instruments for practice. He loves spicy food and eats it a lot.[3]
Yuta is the bright and cheerful younger twin, and is often with his older brother Hinata. He loves playing pranks, but has a slightly sensitive personality and is considerate of others. Though he's always receiving Hianta's passionate love for him, he rebels against it, wanting to have his own individuality. At the Light Music Club, he acts as a helper to Rei and usually has to keep Koga calm. He is a member of the twin unit 2wink. As someone who's on the receiving end of someone older's affection, he get's along with fellow first year Tori Himemiya.[4]

As the younger one of the twins, Yuta is more composed than his elder brother. He is bright and good at getting along with others, but he also feels insecure due to adolescence. Yuta values Hinata a lot. His singing is soft but energetic, and his performances are also free and jump out of the ordinary. Yuta is the other member of 2wink at COSMIC PRODUCTION.[5]

Yuta grows out his hair sometime between the events of the SS preliminaries and his appearance on Volcano Island. The reason why is kept unclear by Yuta, but he describes the reason as "complicated".[6] YamadaP played a fair role in encouraging him to keep his hair long.[7]
He was asked by Kohaku if he tried his hair up in a bun to resemble Madara, and Yuta denied it He explained that he just wanted to keep his long hair out of his face.[8]
