| Anzu-san, hello there. Will you be having lunch here today?
If it’s alright with you, why don’t you treat yourself to something sweet afterwards? I’ve brought along some homemade sugar rusks I baked using bread crusts. |
|
| Anzu: You’re so good at cooking.(料理上手だね) | |
|---|---|
| I’m flattered, but I actually feel like my cooking is probably a little too simple.
I kind of shy away from using more luxurious ingredients, which could be the problem. I feel like I’m surrounded by fancy food here at ES, so I could just be overthinking things. |
|
| Oh no, I only ever make the most basic of dishes.
I suppose I’ve gotten compliments about my home-style cooking before, but recently I've started to admire how fancy food can be too. The food here at ES is super high-class, so I’ve got lots of ideas to work with! |
|
| Anzu: Bread crusts…?(パンの耳だと……) | |
|---|---|
| Yes! They turn out kind of like fried dough cakes, and taste pretty good!
The bakery near my house sells bread crusts for cheap, and I have a couple of different recipes for when I wanna whip up a snack. My little brother and sister love when I make them into something sweet, like sugar rusks, so I bake them a lot! |
|
| They’d taste good made into a gratin?
...I see! So that’s how it’s done! It sounded difficult at first, but the method’s actually pretty simple! I’d love to try and make one for my younger siblings when I next get the chance! |

| You’re asking me what else I like to cook?
I’d rather not waste food, so I like to follow recipes that make use of every part of the vegetable, even the leaves. Like, I’ll take daikon leaves and make them into a garnish for the main dish. |
|
| Anzu: Oh wow.(そうなんだ) | |
|---|---|
| I made too much food one time a while back, so I took the leftovers along to Biblion, one of my circles.
Everyone seemed to enjoy it, thank goodness! Although I did feel super nervous all of a sudden when it was Ran-senpai’s turn to try a bit. |
|
| The topic of my cooking came up before during one of Flavor’s get-togethers.
Since then, Tomoe-senpai’s asked me if I’d cook something just for him. I’ve heard that he’s a fan of quiche, so I’d love to challenge myself to baking one! |
|
| Anzu: That sounds good.(美味しいよね) | |
|---|---|
| Have you made use of daikon leaves in your cooking before too, Anzu-san?
Aren’t they great? They’re full of nutrients, and you can use them in so many different dishes. They’re so versatile, and yet there are actually people out there who just throw them away. I just can’t believe it… |
|
| It really is! Daikon leaves taste great, whether you fry them up or use them to garnish a dish.
That’s the fun of cooking with them; that there’s so many ways to go about it. Plus the color’s so vibrant, so they make a colorful side-dish when tucked into a bento lunch too. |

| Why don’t you have some tea with your sugar rusks?
Just say the word and I’ll be happy to brew some up for you! I’d like to spend just a little bit longer with you, if that’s okay. |
|
| Anzu: Is there something you wanna talk about?(話したいことがあるの?) | |
|---|---|
| Actually… I feel like lately Nii-chan and Tomoya-kun are butting heads with each other a lot more than usual.
I know they’re both human, and it’s not like things can go perfectly 100% of the time… But every time they start to disagree with each other, I start worrying about whether there’s anything I should be doing to help. |
|
| Ahaha, you saw right through me, Anzu-san.
It’s just… It seems like Tomoya-kun is worrying about whether he should put everything he has into being the Leader of Ra*bits, or if it’s okay for him to rely on Nii-chan a bit more. He’s always the one lending me a hand, so it’s a bit frustrating that I can’t help him out in return. |
|
| Anzu: About that TV show you were on before…(前にTVで……) | |
|---|---|
| Ah… I talked about tea that time I was invited to appear on a cooking show.
Before I realized what was happening, they ended up introducing the segment as “Tea Time With A Bishoujo Idol”, or something… I feel like that’s how a lot of people are coming to see me, and I’m a little anxious about it. |
|
| That’s true, I’ve brewed tea during a TV segment before… You’re talking about the one where I was wearing that frilly outfit while going through some household chores, aren’t you?
I’ve gotten a lot of work along those lines recently. Of course, I’m happy that there are people who come to like me after seeing me on TV shows like that. But Shiino Hajime is first and foremost a member of Ra*bits, so I worry a little about whether I’m on the right path or not. |
