Ahaha. Mitsuru-chin got injured at the Wisteria Festival[1], so his performance was a little compromised, apparently.

He’s super fired up this time to make up for it~

I was kinda worried whether Mitsuru-chin would be able to act, but...

He’s an idol too, after all. It can’t hurt for him to pick up some acting experience. If anything, he’s doing way better than I expected. I’m a little surprised~♪

Makoto Yuuki School Dialogue Render

Ahaha. From what Hidaka-kun told me, Tenma-kun couldn’t remember a word of the script.

In the end, they laid out a couple of rules regarding what he can and can’t do on stage and then left the rest up to him. Apparently, he’s just going along with whatever Mashiro-kun says.

Nazuna Nito School Dialogue Render

Really...? You mean Mitsuru-chin ad-libbed all those lines? That’s more impressive, honestly~ I kinda feel like it’d be easier to just memorize the script.

Makoto Yuuki School Dialogue Render

Well... I’m sure he’s probably following a general outline, at least.

Apparently, even while ad-libbing, Tenma-kun is being careful to stay in character so he doesn’t break the audience’s immersion in the story.

Given the chorus members’ role, a little fourth-wall breaking is unavoidable, but still.

Let’s say he called Mashiro-kun by his real name on stage. As a spectator, that’d kinda drag you back to reality, wouldn’t it? You wouldn’t want that.

Nazuna Nito School Dialogue Render

Oh, now that you mention it, he hasn’t said “Tomo-chan” even once. Wow~ He’s really giving it his all...

Mitsuru-chin is better at remembering what he’s told than you’d think.

Shu Itsuki School Dialogue Render

You two. I’d rather not have to keep telling you off. Both of you, be quiet.

You’ve become quite the chatterbox, Nito. You sewed your own lips shut only to unravel them again now?

Nazuna Nito School Dialogue Render

You’ve been talking too, though...

Wh- whoa?

Adonis Otogari School Dialogue Render

Ah, I’m sorry. I must have startled you.

Makoto Yuuki School Dialogue Render

Oh, Otogari-kun, good work out there~♪

Ahaha, they didn’t have enough people for the extras, so you got roped in at the last minute, right?

Adonis Otogari School Dialogue Render

Right. It was very sudden, so it came as quite a surprise. Apparently, one of the extras isn’t feeling well...

I have a very similar figure, so I was asked to take his place.

It wouldn’t have really mattered whether the character was there or not, but seeing as the scene was about a massive brawl, it needed the extra oomph.

I thought it’d be a good experience, so I agreed to help.

After all, I only had to stand around quietly and swing a sword around.

Still, I was so nervous, I worked up a cold sweat... Acting’s completely different from performing as an idol.

Makoto Yuuki School Dialogue Render

Ahaha. I saw you~ It was a pretty flashy, action-packed scene, huh? Weren’t you scared?

Adonis Otogari School Dialogue Render
I’m used to swords from being around Kanzaki. Besides, the “swords” used in the play are just fake props. As long as you don’t get hit in the eye or something, they shouldn’t hurt you.

If anything, I was more worried that I’d accidentally hit someone with my sword and hurt them.

Really, fighting gets you nowhere. I’d rather solve disputes with words.

Makoto Yuuki School Dialogue Render

Ahaha. If there wasn’t the fight between the families, there wouldn’t be Romeo and Juliet.

Nazuna Nito School Dialogue Render

You really worked hard out there~ You’ve gotta be thirsty. I’ve got a drink here if you’d like it ♪

Adonis Otogari School Dialogue Render

Thank you, Nito...senpai. You’re as small as ever. I’ll protect you.

Nazuna Nito School Dialogue Render

Hmph~ Don’t call me shmall! I’m older than you~!

Shu Itsuki School Dialogue Render

Hmm... You there. You were moving around quite vigorously down there.

Your costume didn’t tear or come unraveled at all, did it? I did sacrifice the costumes’ looks a little to make sure they could withstand some wear and tear, but even so.

Adonis Otogari School Dialogue Render

There were no problems with it.

I’m sure you already know this, but the costume was designed to tear and have blood come out...

I’m pretty sure it didn’t get ruined anywhere other than where it was supposed to.

Shu Itsuki School Dialogue Render

Hmph. While I understand it was a necessary part of the scene, it was hard to watch an outfit get torn up.

Once the play is over, I’ll go mend it. This is only the first night, after all. The outfit should be reusable for the rest of the shows.

Honestly... It wouldn’t hurt to just cut the fighting scenes out, but Wataru is needlessly attached to them for some reason.

This is Romeo and Juliet. The play would perfectly fine with just the parts about their romance.

Makoto Yuuki School Dialogue Render

Um. I didn’t really know anything about the story beforehand, so I was kind of surprised there are fight scenes in the first place.

Nazuna Nito School Dialogue Render

That fight just now was a skirmish between servants of the Montague and Capulet families.

It turns into a bloodbath that makes their already poor relations even worse.

I think this scene is really important to show that the families are on such bad terms they’d try and kill each other.

I don’t think it’d be very convincing to just stand up there and say they’re hostile.

(Note: This section refers to Act 1 Scene 1 of the original play.)

Shu Itsuki School Dialogue Render

I still think that would depend on how they presented the line... This is Wataru though. He loves to be flashy.

Either way, after this scene, the rest of the play focuses mostly on the romance...

I don’t have to worry about anything coming up. If anything, I’m rather excited for it.

Nazuna Nito School Dialogue Render

Ahaha. You’re one to talk. You aren’t even interested in romance.

Shu Itsuki School Dialogue Render

How rude. Unlike the common riff-raff, I just happen to hold high standards when it comes to romance.

At times it seems everyone is so intent on dressing up simple lust with flowery words as though it were the same thing... I could devote hours to the subject, you know?

Nazuna Nito School Dialogue Render

Then don’t. Shut up, Itsuki. Seriously, we’ve been too chatty over here as it is.

  1. Mitsuru hurt his leg before the show in Wisteria Festival, and was unable to dance. The performance was almost called off entirely, but in the end, Mitsuru was able to perform thanks to Madara carrying him.
