Early Years[]
As a child, Makoto was a model. He was somewhat famous because of it, and was viewed as a child prodigy. He briefly worked alongside Izumi Sena, who acted as a big brother figure as Makoto's mother was unable to care for him sometimes. Makoto was also familiar with Arashi Narukami and Akiomi Kunugi due to being in the same industry together.[1][2]
Makoto and Izumi became friends due to the fact they were close in age. They were almost like siblings, with Makoto referring to Izumi as "Onii-chan", with Izumi guiding and teaching Makoto how to do things[3][4][5]. As Makoto cried very frequently when he was younger, Izumi would comfort and encourage him until his work was done. Despite being extremely skilled, his experience in the modeling industry eventually weighed on him to the point of quitting, likely due to the industry’s work ethic of putting work over your own personal health.
After quitting being a model, he withdrew and lived as a shut-in, not going outside and only playing games all day. This resulted in his eyesight deteriorating[6].
Makoto comes from a single-parent household. Before he moved to Starmony Dorm in his third year of high school, he and his mother would take turns doing chores, and sometimes struggled to get food on their table[7].
War Era[]
During the War Era, Makoto was a first year student at Yumenosaki and was in class 1-B. Makoto was one of the few active members of Yumenosaki's Game Research Club. When threatened with abolition due to inactivity and lack of members, he attempted to get members to return. Eventually, he quit the Game Research Club due to the fact it became a delinquent hangout spot, which made him uncomfortable.
Makoto represented class 1-B as a substitute participant for the Venus Cup live, which is where he first performed onstage alongside Mao, Subaru and Hokuto.

After the events of DDD and being kidnapped by Izumi, Makoto began to distance himself even further from the modeling industry, finding comfort in Trickstar. There, he was able to work on regaining his confidence as he pushed himself to train harder and develop in the areas he was lacking in, his successes rebuilding his confidence further.

As a third year, Makoto is a member of class 3-A alongside Hokuto, Mao, Subaru, Yuzuru and Mika.
Makoto continues idol activities into his third year alongside his friends in Trickstar. The four of them are signed under STARMAKER PRODUCTION.
By his third year, Makoto overcomes his trauma enough to be on camera for jobs.
