Ensemble Stars! Introduction

Though he acts the part of an energetic mood-maker, Makoto is actually poor at communicating. He's also terrible at talking with girls alone. To overcome his inarticulateness, he actively makes a great effort in striving to become an idol.

The broadcasting committee relies on him for his excellent ability to gather information. It wasn't his intention to become a model in the first place, but he's been in show business since childhood because of his parents. He's a real looker when he takes off his glasses. A member of the unit Trickstar.

He also wears a strap on his right side that's green with a white stripe. On the left side, there's a draped black bandana with a white stripe and dotted with tiny silver specks. He wears green sneakers with white laces. The outside of the shoes feature a star motif with the name "Trickstar" embroidered under it. Makoto wears two green wristbands. • Makoto's specialty is tinkering with electronics, and he is quite good with his hands.[3]

  • Makoto's hobby is gaming. He enjoys simple playstyles, and appreciates any game as long as he feels accomplished.[6]
    • During his first year, and possibly before, Makoto used to hole himself up and do nothing but play video games.[7]

  • Makoto has trauma related to modeling, specifically involving cameras. During his first year at Yumenosaki, the sight of one was enough to cause him to scream.[15]
    • With his friends' support, he has gradually grown more accustomed to them.
  • Makoto is often insecure about his position due the lack of talent he has as an idol compared to his natural talent as a model.
    • Despite this, he has no intention to return to being a model, as he truly loves being an idol.
  • Makoto has briefly considered becoming a pro-gamer idol as per Jun Sazanami's suggestion.[16] While this is dismissed as a joke, he is integrating more gaming-related work into his job as an idol.[17]
