Shinobu Sengoku

Fellow member of the OCEANS Circle.Izumi becomes a dependable senior for Shinobu in his own way. After helping Shinobu and Sora out with a White Day photoshoot session, Izumi follows up with the two to make sure everything went well after spotting it in a magazine. Izumi scolds the two for the fact he had to go out of the way to follow-up with them, telling them that they should have at least reached out to him through HoldHands at least as an involved party, even if he returned to Florence before they could show him gratitude directly. Feeling bad, Shinobu and Sora still wanted to thank him, although Izumi insisted he didn't need gratitude in such a manner. He ends up acquiescing after hearing they'll be eating together with Makoto, but Izumi still invited Shinobu and Sora to tell him about the photoshoot, as a way to show him their gratitude.

Sora Harukawa

In one of Sora's minitalks from Advancing to the Future/Next Door, Sora tells Anzu that Izumi went shopping with Sora. He also added that "Sena-senpai has a very kind color". Following through Izumi and Shinobu relation part: Sora was also being scolded to not telling Izumi that the Blush Flash photo session went well. Sora still wanted to thank Izumi properly. Initially Izumi said that he doesn't need to be treated like so, but then asked both Shinobu and Sora to tell about the story behind the photoshoot.

Tori Himemiya

Fellow members of the Tennis Club. Tori has little respect for Izumi as his senior, while Izumi often enjoys teasing Tori by making him run all over court during tennis practice. Izumi calls him "Momo-kun" as an alternate reading of the "tou" in "Touri" as well as "Princess" from the "hime" in "Himemiya". He enjoys mocking him like his other juniors. However despite the teasing, Izumi seems to be thankful that Tori would hear him out for his troubles with Makoto.

Izumi doesn't hate Tori's company, and appreciates the fact that their matches allow him to vent.

Tsukasa Suou

Tsukasa is a fellow member of Knights, who Izumi often teases and bullies, although he gets easily irritated when Tsukasa challenges his authority and snaps back at him. Despite this, they have a fond relationship, Izumi always monitoring Tsukasa's sweet tooth much to the younger boy's dismay. Izumi typically enjoys luring Tsukasa in with a friendly and gentle demeanor, only to bully him and shock him. Tsukasa dislikes this, but has grown used to it over the year. Considering Izumi has grown to respect Tsukasa more as a member of Knights, he still enjoys to mess with him.

Izumi is the one to usually scold Tsukasa for things, ranging from his sweet tooth, to doing impulsive things to boost the reputation of Knights, like in Duel. Even with the rocky aspect in their relationship, Izumi holds a certain fondness for Tsukasa, considering he reminds him of Leo a bit.

Izumi often bullies and teases Tsukasa, and as a result, Tsukasa quickly learns to be suspicious of Izumi's intentions. He mouths off to Izumi frequently. Of all of his upperclassmen in Knights, Izumi is the most strict toward Tsukasa. In Fortune Banquet, for example, Izumi scolds and punishes Tsukasa for ignoring him and for keeping his problems to himself. That said, Izumi has a deep sense of gratitude toward Tsukasa for giving Knights new life and purpose through his persistent idealism. Izumi is motivated not to let down Tsukasa's faith. At the same time, Tsukasa greatly respects Izumi as a talented upperclassman, in spite of his peculiarities.

In Butterfly, it is shown that Tsukasa is increasingly unsatisfied with Izumi's harsh attitude and refusal to show genuine affection, as he displays with Makoto. Although Ritsu often points out that Izumi's scoldings are a display of fondness in this case, Tsukasa still wants to be spoiled and praised at times by Izumi. Toward the end of the year, Izumi occasionally begins to show a more open, honest affection.

Yuta Aoi

At first, Yuta seemed to have been intimidated of Izumi due to his constantly irritated personality.

Izumi is very fond of Yuta and acts kindly towards him. He uses Yuta as a "substitute for Yuu-kun", presumably because they have similar names, and treats him with a similar affection. However, despite the initial "substitution" that took place in Test of Courage, it is shown that he really does care about Yuta's well-being, growing stressed in Leisurely Self-Bondage when Yuta gets angry at him for paying so much attention to Makoto and later panicking about Yuta was having difficulty carrying the heavy boxes.

Anzu

While Izumi dislikes how close she is to Trickstar, he doesn't see her as an opponent or someone to worry about. He respects her skills and dedication as a producer. Even if he typically is harsh towards her, he does fuss over her when she's overworking herself, saying how "s~o annoying" it is to see how worn down she is in WANTED!!!.

Izumi initially considers Anzu an amateur producer and a bug getting close to his Yuu-kun. In Duel however, he learns Anzu and Makoto's relationship is nothing to worry about and begins recognizing her skills.

Izumi views Anzu as a bridge between Makoto and himself. Yet, despite expressing disappointment when Anzu doesn't bring Makoto along with her, he still thoroughly helps with her work in Pirates and Test of Courage. In Test of Courage, he even offers to take Anzu home on his bike, it being late at night.

By winter he has grown very fond of her and seems to consider her akin to a little sister during StarFes, cooing that if she wanted hot tea he would give it to her, and knitting her a hat with pom-poms, saying that it fit her and she looked cute. He behaves similarly warm to her during Dance on Ice, making her tea and fussing over her health. Leo comments that "I bet your nosiness escalates because Anzu accepts your affection properly."

Arashi Narukami

Members of the same unit. Arashi dotes on him like a big sister, and often enjoys teasing and getting clingy with him, but this is usually responded to with disgust from Izumi. The two are also from the same modeling agency and are often seen together. Despite Izumi’s frequently crude tone, he is unexpectedly gentle when speaking to her about things that might be upsetting. Despite their constant bickering at each other, they are good friends.

Fellow members of Knights and alongside Izumi in their modeling career, it's regarded that Izumi might be a senior to Arashi in the modeling field. Arashi at first only participated in idol activities out of respect for Izumi, but she ended up enjoying becoming an idol. She enjoys teasing and playing with Izumi, making him easily irritated when he's around her, not fond of the attempts to make fun of him. Izumi at first didn't appreciate Arashi trying to become close, but they eventually become good friends and are typically hanging out together. Izumi typically complains about Arashi's antics, she lets it go and continues to tease and get close to him. They developed a mutual respect towards each other over the year, growing closer in relation to each others career in modeling. Arashi and Izumi typically bicker at each other, whining about something the other did or teasing one another.

Back in Izumi's second year, he was much more harsh to her, calling Arashi "shitty four-eyes" when she wanted to match with Akiomi. Izumi wasn't fond of her, and Arashi typically off put him. At first, she only pursued him due to Izumi's loose connection to Akiomi in the modeling business, but over the course of the rest of Izumi's second year, they grew to rely on each other more often, shouldering a large amount of the authority and responsibility for Knights.

Arashi is still the doting big sister to her fellow Knights, even including Izumi. She cares for Izumi greatly, whenever he's overseas, modelling in Florence. Arashi enjoys teasing Izumi with her comrades. Izumi, however, doesn't enjoy it much. Izumi has a good eye on Arashi's mannerisms and behavior and can tell when something is up or wrong with her.

HiMERU

During the Butlers event, HiMERU and Izumi initially got along well. This quickly changed when Izumi started demanding retakes, feeling unsatisfied with everyone's acting, causing HiMERU to become agitated enough to tell him to shut up.

Makoto Yuuki

Former acquaintances in the modeling industry. Makoto and Izumi initially have a rocky relationship but have come to renew their respect for each other as time passes. Izumi is incredibly attached and infatuated with Makoto at the start of the school year, and still has a bit of trouble trying not to be too clingy by the end of it. Izumi has an obsession with Makoto to the point of constantly showering him with love and clinging onto him passionately, sometimes even going as far as stalking him and secretly taking photos of him. Unfortunately, Makoto finds that bothersome and tends to avoid Izumi as a result. That only exacerbates Izumi's behavior, as Izumi grows to be slightly violent and very harsh towards anyone who poses a threat towards Makoto or gets in the way of his love for him.

They had a close relationship when they were young, since they were child models together in the same modeling agency, but eventually grew distant, though not stated why and when. Makoto used to refer to Izumi as his "onii-chan" due to their very close relationship. Izumi remembered the child who looked up to him so much, and quickly became overly-dependent on Makoto for happiness, especially after the events of Checkmate.

Due to their close relationship as children, Izumi enjoys referring to himself as Makoto's "onii-chan," typically forcing himself into Makoto's life as the role of his "reliable older brother." Despite that, it's not reciprocated by Makoto. Izumi is set on his goal to have Makoto return to being a model with him, attempting to try by any means possible to become close to Makoto again.

During the events of the rebellion, Izumi saw his chance to take Makoto back after Eichi had ordered Trickstar to disband, and requested Makoto to join Knights. This lead to Makoto's kidnapping, restricting him to an unused practice room, where he fed and spent time with the other boy. Izumi had been very hateful towards Makoto's glasses in particular, only appreciating him for his beauty and the memory of the two as children. This directly caused an enormous rift between them after Subaru had rescued Makoto though, leading Knights to be disqualified for foul play.

Despite this, over time, Izumi grew more respectful of Makoto's space, holding himself back from being clingy and possessive, like in Sports Festival 2, especially after Leo had returned to Knights. As the year progressed, Makoto grew to trust Izumi more often and Izumi learned to respect his space and his aspirations, even if he still fussed over and doted on him. It got to the point that even with Makoto's trauma in modeling, he asked Izumi in SS to follow him with a camera to help him become desensitized.

Izumi always tries to make sure Makoto is in good care, and often gets worried that he's neglecting his health. He does his best to support him as shown when he knits a scarf from scratch for Makoto with the words "I LOVE YUU♥" on it.

• Izumi has nicknamed Makoto as "Yuu-kun" ever since they were children, and still calls him as such in present.
• Izumi was the source to Makoto's comfort in the past due to the latter's crybaby nature as a child, nonetheless Izumi would always be kind and praise him.
• Despite Izumi's obsession with Makoto, he is shown to be strict with him when it comes to modeling, making sure everything he does is downright perfect, to which Makoto is somewhat grateful.
• Izumi appears to be acquainted with Makoto's mother from his time in modeling, even having her phone number.

Mao Isara

Mao and Izumi meet during Checkmate, where Izumi scolds Mao for not taking better care of Ritsu. Izumi says that childhood friends who still get along during high school are precious (foreshadowing Izumi and Makoto's relationship at that time).

In Close Encounter, Izumi says that he doesn't hate guys like Mao because it wouldn’t be bad if there's someone as easy to boss around as him. However, Mao's complete deference to other people still catches Izumi off guard, as Izumi doesn't understand how someone could disregard their own pride and bow to others as easily as Mao does without hesitation.

Mao remarks that Izumi exudes cold vibes even though he is smiling, and he's almost used to it by the time of Close Encounter.

Izumi shares a room in the Starmony Dorm with Mao. Like the other members of their dorm, Izumi scolds Mao for working too hard and not taking better care of himself.

Ritsu Sakuma

Fellow members of Knights, Ritsu and Izumi have a snippy dynamic, usually bickering or teasing each other often. It usually results in Ritsu toying with him or Izumi openly complaining about Ritsu's attitude. He especially gets annoyed at Ritsu's sleeping habits during unit practice, or his insistence to use Anzu for information on Mao whenever he can. They met back in Izumi's second year, when he accidentally stepped on a sleeping Ritsu near the school gates, at first assuming he was a dead body until proven otherwise. Although he showed concern for him by taking him to the unit practice room, he quickly became put off by his sleeping and snarky attitude. Despite that, they became reliant on each other as friends and unitmates, although Izumi avoids admitting he sees Ritsu as a friend.

Even when faced with the truth that Ritsu is Rei Sakuma's younger brother, Izumi didn't truly care about that and had Ritsu stuck around because he valued his strength as a tactician and member of Knights. This surprised Ritsu, as he believed Izumi befriended him solely because he was Rei's brother. This shows the contrast in Izumi's personality, where despite being harsh on people, he doesn't judge or befriend someone purely on their status or outward appearance. Instead, he gives people a chance to prove themselves, and would rather see their diligence and work.

He's usually fussing over Ritsu and his laziness, typically telling him what to do when it inconveniences him. Ritsu hardly ever cooperates, frustrating Izumi. However, the very snarky attitudes they have towards each other, they naturally get along as friends and respect each other as unitmates.

Subaru Akehoshi

Izumi and Subaru get off to a rough start, as Subaru dislikes the way Izumi frequently tries to force himself in to spend time with Makoto, and Izumi is likewise annoyed at Subaru's interference in these activities. Subaru tends to call him "Seaweed Hair" to showcase his dislike. Their first confrontation in Ensemble already painted them as enemies whose ideals clash.

Graduates

Chiaki Morisawa

Fellow members of Class 3-A. Izumi seems to have a spirit of competition towards him, such as demanding a rematch in WANTED!!! when the two tied during a dance game because it was cut short.

Enstars!!

Though no longer in the same class, Izumi and Chiaki still seem to maintain a level of friendliness with each other. In Chiaki's Idol Story featuring Izumi, he not only brings Izumi a gift as a repayment for the one he received from him before, but also invites him to an Italian food fair afterwards, asking him to go together as he thinks he will enjoy it.

Additionally, in Izumi's idol story "Nostalgic alma-mater", the two and Kaoru are shown going to karaoke and afterwards returning to check out Yumenosaki together, both situations pointing to a relative friendliness they all have with each other.

Eichi Tenshouin

Though they are fellow classmates in 3-A, they hardly interact. Izumi is furious when he sees the member list of Knight Killers that Leo creates during Rebellion, and acknowledges that all the members that Leo picked are some of the strongest idols in the academy. The roster included Eichi, of course, whose smug and aloof attitude throughout the event also intimidated Izumi.

During prologue of Checkmate Izumi notes that he doesn't put all blame for what happened to Leo on Eichi. He also shows concern for his poor health which probably means Izumi isn’t really opposed to him.

During Management Story 6 of Eichi's sub stories Izumi agrees to help Eichi practice ball dance for upcoming party in exchange for a favor.

Kaoru Hakaze

They are both classmates in Class 3-A. Izumi considers Kaoru's appearance to be his "only redeeming feature" in WANTED!!!. They seem to be fairly neutral to one another, though Izumi is understanding of Kaoru's difficulty in modeling and treats him gently in Bridal.

From Dance on Ice on, however, they seem to have gotten closer off-screen. Both of them changed the way they referred to one another, turning them into "Kao-kun" and "Senacchi", and Kaoru seems to attempt to engage in friendly banter with Izumi throughout the story. Izumi also seems to see through what Kaoru's real intentions were when he attempted to provoke him, and seems to know about what kind of person he really is, going as far as to later say that Kaoru "seems close, but won't let you step any closer into his personal space", despite saying afterwards that they're "not friends or anything", so he doesn't think he'll step over from his end anyway. Tsukasa, however, seems to think otherwise, stating that if Izumi knows Kaoru that well, then they're already friends.

Izumi and Kaoru are both part of the OCEANS circle, and so they engage in circle activities together sometimes. Additionally, Tatsumi points out after seeing them chat for a bit that the two seem to be good friends, despite the fact that Izumi denies this after he says it.

Leo Tsukinaga

Fellow member of Knights and his leader, Izumi calls him Ousama, or "King," as a nickname derived from the last vowel of Leo's name. They knew each other since first year, but information about their relationship then is not known. Izumi states that he would reject Leo's pursuit of friendship with him at every term, but eventually relented, and they eventually became close.

Back in second year, Izumi was typically frustrated with Leo's chaotic and reckless antics. They typically bickered with each other. Despite this, Izumi was impressed and respected Leo's talents as a composer and musical writer. Even though Leo griped about Izumi's nagginess, he appreciated that Izumi wants to care care of him. Leo had a tendency to tell Izumi that he loves him often, as well as calling him beautiful, clinging to him, though Izumi often reacted with disbelief. Despite his behavior, Izumi loved Leo's songs and singing for him, and he expressed Leo's music made him feel at ease.

Also, at some point Leo had composed a song for him titled "A Little Sena Izumi" and gave it to him before Leo disappeared from the school. He also has an iPod filled with songs Leo composed for him before he disappeared.

Izumi used to visit Leo's house in the past, though no longer does. Ruka, Leo's little sister, likely appears to be familiar with him because of this.

Later in their second year, Leo and Izumi's genuine feelings of care and affection for one another turned into co-dependency. Leo became obsessed with making Izumi happy and believed Izumi was his muse, and Izumi had never had anyone so head over heels for him that he wanted to keep Leo's affections for him no matter what. As Leo's mental state deteriorated due to outside stress, he grew more vicious and violent, and Izumi grew more desperate and in need of Leo's validation. They began to fight constantly, to the point of hurting one another and blaming one another. As Leo became increasingly rejected by his peers and lashed out at Izumi more and more, Izumi finally couldn't take it and distances himself from Leo. Leo would eventually break down completely from the stress of the war and having no one he could trust around him, and eventually withdrew from school.

Once Leo leaves school, Izumi grew more unstable, moody, and harsh. He takes out his feelings on Makoto, seeking gratification and affection as a desperate means to attempt to protect someone he cares about, which he feels he failed to do with Leo.

When Leo finally returns, their relationship is still rocky, tense and awkward from all the unspoken issues between the two of them, Izumi feeling like it's pointless considering Leo had changed so much. In King's Horseback Ride, Izumi is concerned after hearing Leo had been spotted at school once more, and instantly grows irritated with Leo's much more manic behavior and argues with him once he returns. After the events of Judgement, Leo returns back to Knight's as their official leader once more and they begin to work on their relationship again. During the Star Festival , Leo tends to compare Izumi to a nagging mother, but enjoys to be close to him to feel his warmth, which flusters and irritates Izumi. Leo typically expresses jealousy over Izumi's attachment to Makoto, but accepts it since he had been gone anyways.

In the end, Leo and Izumi have been friends for a few years, and rely on each other quite a bit. Even after Leo returned and their relationship was very rocky, they still end up becoming close once again over the year. Although Izumi mostly calls him "Ousama," he occasionally calls him Leo-kun like he did in second year.

They both live in Florence pursuing their own passions (composing and modeling). They don’t live in the same apartment, but Leo visits Izumi nearly every day.

After the events of Next Door, Leo and Izumi now share an apartment, with Izumi acting as a manager for Leo and Leo helping to find jobs for Izumi. Leo expresses annoyance with how much Izumi nags him, but is happy living with him and thinks they can keep a good balance without repeating the past . Izumi compares living with Leo to taking care of a pet, but concedes that it benefits them both to live together .

Madara Mikejima

Madara and Izumi are classmates in 3A. They're both protective of Leo and tried their best to support him, but separately, in Leo's difficult time since Checkmate.

In Next Door, Madara contacted Izumi (who had just come back from overseas) by phone to tell him about what happened with Leo in Walking in Darkness. Izumi thanked Madara for taking care of Leo in the GFK incident, something that should have been done by Izumi or one of the members of Knights. He then chastised Madara in the next breath for doing risky stuff that could endanger the relationship that he treasured so much with Leo, and advised him to focus on his idol business more as it was what those who loved Madara would want for him.

Nazuna Nito

Nazuna is the captain of the Tennis Club in which Izumi is the vice-captain. Calls him "Nazu-nyan", possibly as a way of making fun of his speech difficulties. The two are not completely unfriendly, even knowing each others' phone numbers, but Izumi dislikes how he tends to interfere between him and Makoto and relentlessly teases and mocks him when he sees him. Like some others, Nazuna tends to dislike him for having a "horrible personality".

During Star Festival, Izumi mentions that Nazuna sometimes talks to him about his situation with Valkyrie .

Shu Itsuki

Fellow member of Class 3-A. They seem to be fairly friendly, as Shu calls him "beautiful" and Izumi worries about Mademoiselle getting hurt during WANTED!!!, with Shu commenting on Izumi and Leo's relationship as well.

Shu shares a room in the Starmony Dorm with Izumi. During the main story, Izumi saw Shu sleeping at the airport, assumed they were both going to Japan for the MDM, and brought him along on his flight. They both recognize that the other has changed, notably that they both became outwardly kinder. The two remain friends in Ensemble Stars!!.

Izumi and Shu arranged to meet in Florence so Shu could find a certain craftsman. In return, Shu agreed to show Izumi around Paris.

Faculty

Akiomi Kunugi

Akiomi was Izumi's senpai within the modeling industry, briefly being signed under the same agency before Akiomi stepped away from modeling due to pursue a career as an idol. Initially, Izumi looked down on Akiomi, distrusting him as an adult, and finding any opportunity to make fun of Akiomi but, slowly starts to trust Akiomi, going to Akiomi for help trying to get into the movie that Makoto was starring in. Akiomi tried his best to take care of Izumi when his parents weren't around but often found himself getting frustrated with Izumi's stubborn behaviour.

Izumi and Akiomi sometimes work together when Knights is doing work with the P-Association.

Others

Ruka Tsukinaga

In Lionheart it's revealed that Ruka and Izumi know each other. He thought she might’ve been having a hard time because Leo's mental state got worse after the events of the War, so whenever he went to Leo's house he'd try to talk to her about it. After a little hesitation, Ruka got attached to him as a result. This also may be a reference to Ruka's favorite color being silver. As a response, Izumi said that he didn't mind and that it’s not a bad feeling to be liked by little kids. When Izumi came to Leo's house to ask for his approval on a work for Knights (since Leo was still the leader at the time), Ruka cried while begging him to save Leo from his broken state and to "at least get him to eat something". Leo overheard their conversation and warned Izumi to not make his sister cry, to which Izumi replied "I'm not why she's crying." Izumi remarked that a crying Ruka reminded him of Leo from a long time ago.
