Impassable Heaven
1 Episode 1
Present day. Anzu wakes Jin up from a nap to deliver the required journals. Jin tells Anzu to leave the student journals on the desk without waking him up next time. Thus, leading to a tangent about how he doesn't actually read them due to varying reasons and trust for the students. Right at that moment, Akiomi enters the room bringing a CD copy of a VHS tape for Jin, of which Jin forgot he requested. Akiomi scolds him for sleeping on the job and tells Jin to take better care of himself before moving on to discuss the CD. Akiomi expresses curiosity at the contents of the CD, mentioning that the tape had been sent to Jin by an old rival of his. While Jin loudly professes his innocence on the matter, he later pulls out a letter that was sent with the tape, with the only word on the letter being "Liar!".
2 Episode 2

At an unknown time in the past, Jin is closing off a concert and thanks his fans for attending the event. He makes light-hearted jokes with his fans before moving on to discuss the recent passing of his older brother. He reminiscences his time spent with his brother, how he was strict and would always be mad at him for being a brat. Although his brother was strict, he notes that would have felt lonely without him. Jin adds that the new song he sung was full of feelings of gratitude towards his brother, apologizing for getting his fans' hopes up since it progressed like a love song. On the other hand, he affirms that their cheers have reached his brother and good-spirited people in Heaven. Jin wraps things up with his usual farewell of expressing his thanks for coming and that he loves them once again. After he says goodbye to his fans, he reflects on the transpired event, feeling shameful for using his brother's passing as a tear-jerker routine like instructed. Jin seeks refuge in his brother's approval in his thoughts, as he was the only family member who supported him, wondering if he should've been a doctor like his parents wanted him to be. He somberly contemplates his self-image as an idol, whether the fact that his image as a Super Idol is representative of who he truly is or not.

Akiomi snaps him out of his daze by telling him to get off stage. Jin, being forcefully pulled out of his wallows, apologizes to Akiomi and greets him. The other grows irritated, ordering him to stop calling him "Akiyan". Jin apologizes once more before he cheers Akiomi on to become the next Super Idol. Akiomi becomes bitter at that statement, saying that Jin was the last Super Idol and that the era of Super Idols had ended. Akiomi tells Jin that he is not cut out to be a sun like him, apologizing for lying about being able to become an idol like him.

3 Episode 3
Sometime after the concert, at an unknown time in the past. Jin finds Akiomi practicing alone in a practice room and remarks that Akiomi is still devoted to practicing. He makes it a point to remind Akiomi to take breaks, otherwise he might run himself into the ground. Akiomi turns this remark back onto Jin, noting that Jin's still wearing his own idol outfit. This causes Jin to start whining about how idol work is reducing his sleeping hours and how his manager won't let him take a break unless a doctor orders it. He jokingly begs Akiomi to sue his manager for him if he does die from overwork. Akiomi laughs at this, remarking that even as Jin complains through all of it, he still manages to do all his work perfectly. After bouts of silence from Akiomi, Jin asks him what's wrong, reminding Akiomi that idols aren't something to look up to and that he told him not to get his hopes up. Akiomi brushes this off, stating that he understands the reasoning behind the corruption within the idol industry, but despite this he still got his hopes up a little, seeing the hopes and dreams of those idols on TV. Jin agrees with this sentiment, explaining things from his point of view. He tells Akiomi that almost all the songs he sings are love songs, one on one, so that girls who listen to the song can imagine themselves as his girlfriend. He finds this way of selling idols to be crooked, but reassures Akiomi that this kind of rotten business can't last forever, hoping this change will bring about a better industry for idols. Jin tells Akiomi that until that day comes, he'll try to hold out in the industry. Akiomi tells Jin that he won't be crushed under the weight of the work and that he'd stay with Jin, even if Akiomi can't imagine how he could be of any use to him. Jin finds the sentiment reassuring, telling Akiomi that they should stay good friends forever and ever.
4 Episode 4
Present day. The tape recording ends, Akiomi observes that the tape isn't very clear. The two begin talking about Jin's fans and the culture that surrounded him while he was active as an idol. After watching the tape, Jin seems to understand why this mysterious rival sent him the tape. Jin briefly explains the competition between him and his rival. Jin's rival used to be a popular idol, but his popularity was waning. So, they marketed him to be his rival, even though they knew he wouldn't win. Jin's rival was cutthroat about being an idol. However, after Jin beat him during the competition, he wouldn't stop crying. He glared daggers at Jin, telling Jin to take up his dream to stay as an idol forever. Jin agreed, but not long after that show he retired. After retelling the story, Jin starts worrying about whether his rival might come after him, noting that his son is an idol now. Akiomi reassures Jin something so ridiculously clearly out of a manga would never happen, and urges Anzu to go home, reminding Anzu of her job to take care of the idols of the current generation as their producer.

Author's Comment

"Congratulations on the CD release and I was in charge of the scenario for April Fool's (I had been drinking with a high school friend yesterday and had gotten so drunk I couldn't think of anything to say, so I had just RT'd)." [1]

  • The past parts of Guilty of Perjury is set towards the end of the Golden Era of Idols, this was a real period of time in Japan in idol history fueled by the Japanese asset price bubble.
