 Jin Sagami

Mr. Sagami now works at the ES business department, and he is responsible for idol support. He usually assigns tasks to others to avoid trouble, but he's also serious at times and always cares for his students. Meanwhile, Mr. Sagami also works as a health teacher[sic] at Yumenosaki Academy. He was a super idol, so he also provides young idols with suggestions as an alumnus.[2]
My name's Jin Sagami. I used to be an idol, but I'm a teacher at Yumenosaki Academy now, while also supporting young idols at the Ensemble Square's business department. In short, I'm nurturing the next generation. I'm also a doctor, so I can give health management advice as a sports trainer. You know, communicating with young people reminds me of my own youth. For those currently giving it their all, I'll be supporting them from behind the scenes.[2]
AkiomiLike myself, Jin Sagami... is a respectable senior at the Ensemble Square business department we belong to. Right now, he too is primarily nurturing young idiols. Although, while he is as insipid as usual... He always communicating with the idols without fail, and is fostering good relationships. Ensemble Stars! Introduction
Jin is a sloppy man who couldn't care less about his own appearance. He dislikes exercising. His job is to monitor the students' health, but he completely fails at taking care of himself. He's a physical therapist and is in charge of general education.
He often shuts himself in the infirmary, which has become the base and center of his life, and reads books there. Due to his friendly manner of speaking, he's well-loved by the students. He used to be a celebrity in the past. He met the teacher Akiomi Kunugi during that time, and they've been acquaintances ever since. They share friendly chats every now and then.
Appearance[]
Jin is a tall man with long black, messy hair. His hair reaches the bottom of his neck, and is framed by messily cut bangs. He also has very light stubble on his chin that is sometimes shaven off depending on the occasion. His eyes are a light, dull brown color. He possesses a beauty mark under his right eye.
Casual[]
Jin wears a navy blue blazer over a white dress shirt with its first few buttons undone. This shirt is sloppily tucked into light gray slacks, which is complemented by a pair of black loafers. On his left wrist is a brown watch with silver plating.
In the winter, Jin puts on three layers: a muddy green baseball jacket on top, a gray sweatshirt visible under the open jacket, and a black collared shirt that barely peeks beyond the sweatshirt. He also wears a pair of dark blue pants that are cuffed at the bottom. Below, he wears a pair of deep brown ankle boots finished with black shoelaces. The same brown watch is worn, its view obscured as it's hidden underneath his left sleeve.
Teaching[]
When he is on campus at Yumenosaki, Jin wears a light blue dress shirt with only a few buttons done, causing his collar to crumple alongside a heavily loosened blue tie. Over this shirt is a wrinkled lab coat that sports a few stains near the bottom portion of the coat and holds three pens in its pockets. He rolls up his black slacks at the bottom and wears green house slippers. On his left wrist is a silver watch with square plating.

Jin is a tall man with long black, messy hair. His hair reaches the bottom of his neck, and he has messily cut bangs. He also has very light stubble on his chin. His eyes are a light, dull brown color. He also has a beauty mark under his right eye. He wears a lab coat that has a few stains on it, with white buttons and the sleeves rolled up to his forearms. The cuffs of his light blue shirt are partly visible under the sleeves. He has a red and a blue pen clipped on the coat's breast pocket. Under his coat, he wears an untucked light blue shirt with the top few buttons undone, and a sloppily tied blue tie. He wears black pants that are rolled up above the ankles, exposing his slightly hairy legs. He wears green slippers. He also wears a silver watch with a black face on his left arm.
Personality[]
After Jin Sagami graduated from school and became a teacher in the school where he graduated, his personality became more casual and lazy, but this still did not affect his teaching ability.
Etymology[]
Jin's family name, 佐賀美, contains the characters for "assistant" or "help" (佐) (Sa), "congratulations" or "joy" (賀) (ga), and "beauty" or "beautiful" (美) (mi). These characters are likely a nod to his supportive nature to his students, and could be a nod to his family's history of being doctors. His first name is much shorter, only containing the character 陣, meaning "camp" or "battle array".

As a child, Jin's parents had always been strict. Jin's relationship with his parents became extremely strained when he became an idol, considering that they had prospects of him succeeding his parents as a doctor. Once Jin retired, his parents welcomed him back with open arms, revealing that they were nothing short of anxious because of his scandals. Thus, resulted in newfound support. He has been on good terms with them ever since.[3] In his youth, Jin had a good relationship with his brother. However, his brother passed away due to terminal cancer when Jin was active as an idol. His brother's passing affected him deeply at the time.[4]

- Both of Jin's parents are doctors, because of this, Jin wasn't allowed to indulge in sweets a lot as a kid. This leads him to having very low tolerance of sugar.[7]

- Jin often takes Akiomi out to go drinking.[8]
- Jin's father is a doctor. He was keen on having Jin follow his footsteps and made him study a lot as a child.[9]
- Jin's motive for becoming an idol originated from wanting the attention of a beautiful young lady who was admitted in his father's hospital. She eventually dies from leukemia.[10]
- Jin crossdressed in the past, and Akiomi ended up falling in love with Jin without realizing it was him.[10][11]
- When Jin was a student at Yumenosaki Private Academy he often performed shows with RYUSEITAI where he was dubbed "Ryusei Rainbow". This was a part of an arrangement with RYUSEITAI to bring some of Jin's fans to the unit and make the unit more popular. However this ended up backfiring as the audience would only pay attention to Jin, so they got into an argument and split ties. [12]
- Jin had once performed a hero show, which thus earned Chiaki's respect for him.[13]
- Jin's Solo song, Binetsu Carnaval is written in the style of song that Jin would have sung during his active days as an Idol. [14]
- The English Ensemble Stars Wiki uses the official ages on the website for Jin & Akiomi's ages, however these are incorrect and don't line up with the ages stated within the story, currently by the time of ES!! era Main Story, Jin would be 30-31 years old
