YutaMe and Aniki are twins, so I’m guessing we have a lot of fans who think we have a telepathic bond. But honestly, that’s far from the truth. Aniki runs off by himself sometimes, and can be really possessive, so I have to be mindful of him. But he’s still my kind big brother, and he cares for me more than anyone else in the world. Ensemble Stars! Introduction
The cheerful and energetic older twin. Hinata is always with his younger twin, Yuta. He loves mischief, and he'd switch places with Yuta in class from time to time. Hinata is also the leader of the unit 2wink.
Even in the Light Music Club, which he joined with Yuta, he takes club activities with a carefree attitude. While they usually get along great, his twin brother isn't satisfied with 2wink's course of action as a duo. He eats a lot and loves sweets, but doesn't like spicy food.
Appearance[]
Hinata is of average height and build, and can be seen smiling more often than his twin Yuta. He has medium length orange hair that is parted in the middle, with two dark pink clips on his left side. His eyes are green. He wears the school's uniform with the collar up and his shirt untucked. He can also be seen usually wearing hot pink headphones with the cord tucked into the pocket of his blazer, which is left unbuttoned. The headphones have a small black and white circle design on them. He also wears dull blue sneakers with red accents and white laces.
On stage, Hinata wears a bright pink jacket with teal insides, opposite to Yuta. The color scheme is their unit's signature colors--hot pink and aqua blue, and accented with white, black and yellow. There are aqua straps connected to his jacket that flow around. Underneath the jacket is a white, high-collared vest with a black accents and a zipper down the middle. He wears a belt with a pink strap and white-teal triangle buckle. Hinata also wears black pants with a yellow stripe down the sides. He wears black hiker-like boots with pink, white and yellow accents. Connected to the top part of the boot are two aqua triangles intertwined together, hanging from the top. Both Yuta and Hinata wear a yellow band on their wrist, and matching black headphones with a crystal-like design for the speaker. Hinata wears pink and aqua nail polish when performing.

Hinata wears pink and aqua nail polish when performing.
Personality[]
Friendly and amiable to everyone, Hinata tends to be more active and mischievous than his younger twin brother, Yuta. He sometimes deliberately plays the "bad twin".
Despite his cheerful nature, Hinata has a tendency to keep his thoughts and efforts for their shared responsibilities hidden from Yuta. He takes on jobs without Yuta's knowledge and earns money for both of them.
Although he often appears to boss his brother around, deep down, Hinata always prioritizes Yuta and unconsciously puts him first. Initially, he was friendly towards everyone, but he started creating a barrier between himself, Yuta, and others. He would insist that they were a unified entity, and that others couldn't fully understand their bond. He often acts more like an overly protective mother than just a close twin, shown saying things like "I am both Yuta's father and mother" and "Yuta is an incredibly adorable baby."
Etymology[]
Hinata is often associated with sunflowers because his full name written in kanji (葵日向) is sunflower (向日葵) written backwards. He is also associated with the sun, as his first name means “sunny spot” and he is often presented as the sun to Yuta’s moon. His character title is “the bright, mischievous sun”.
Both his and his twin's names are solely written in hiragana. Their last name is the name of a species of plant whose scientific name is Asarum caulescens Maxim., characterized by its heart-shaped leaves, two of which often grow symmetrically from the same stem, which parallels the fact that Hinata and Yuta are a pair of twins.

Hinata's family consists of his father, his younger brother Yuta Aoi, and two pet cats.
It's likely that Hinata was born first and Yuta came after him, but there is no confirmation of this. However, ever since Hinata heard about this from his mother, he has taken on the role of being the older brother for Yuta.[3]
Trivia[]
- Hinata's autograph consists of his first name and the initial of his last name, rendered in Roman letters. His autograph also features a triangle motif — 2wink's signature design.
- Hinata claims to have quite the sweet tooth. However, he never began truly enjoying sweet foods until the end of his first year.[4]
- Despite his vocal distaste for it, he is actually very capable of eating large amounts of spicy food.[5]
- Hinata is good at dealing with children.[6]
- Sora described his color as Oil paint.[7] It's also sad and lonely, but usually masked by other colors that don’t suit him[8].
