Rift (Episode)

The eighth episode of the Ensemble Stars! Anime Adaption by David Production. The opening song is Stars' Ensemble, and the ending song is 月下無双、紅の舞 (Unparalleled Beneath the Moonlight, a Crimson Dance). The commercial break illustrations are from (Inspiring Blaze) Chiaki Morisawa and (Morning Star) Subaru Akehoshi.

Summary[]

During the Venus Cup from six months ago, the members of Trickstar perform together for the first time. In present time, the atmosphere in 2-A is solemn, and at the grounds it is noted that Trickstar's members haven't shown up to Basketball Club practice. Shinobu reports that Trickstar has broken up, and Subaru is found in the Gymnasium, where Chiaki enters and invites Subaru to join his unit. Both Hokuto and Mao and then most of the Light Music Club have discussions on their own about what to do. Subaru refuses Chiaki's offer, but Chiaki officially introduces RYUSEITAI regardless. Anzu is revealed in a Trickstar outfit, having made it to perform along with Subaru so that Trickstar is not disqualified from the DDD. The teachers announce the start of the DDD, and Rei comes up to talk to Subaru and Anzu, who are preparing to start their first battle. This battle is revealed to be against Knights, though missing two of its members. Makoto isn't with them, and is revealed to be tied up in a room by Izumi.
