Prologue
1 Episode 1 Spring
The prologue opens with Hiyori outraged at the announcement of an infighting plot announced for Eden, in which Adam and Eve are said to battle. Ibara states this idea was concocted by the higher-ups, and that he had no hand in it, though he seems unfazed by the news unlike the very clearly upset Hiyori. Nagisa remarks that he was no more aware of this than anyone, and that all of his business correspondences are forwarded automatically to Ibara. Ibara tries to convince Hiyori that there is merit to this proposal, stating that the noble has a tendency of mothering the rest of Eden, and that it may be good to try something new. Hiyori stands his ground, but Jun and Nagisa warm up to the idea, to which Hiyori seems more dismayed than anything; when they compare it to a showdown of enemies, he states that he sees Eden as family, and wonders if he's the only one who feels this way.
Fruit of the Fool
2 Episode 1 Spring
Hiyori has now crashed at his old Reimei dorm with Jun, at least temporarily, and is seen tearful on the couch out of grief over the plan to fight with Adam. Jun states that this has caused Kohaku to need to stay at a capsule hotel, to which Hiyori only sulks for some time. Jun attempts to talk him out of this mood by scolding him lightly and explaining that Hiyori's got fortunate circumstances that allow him to boycott his work as he's been doing since Conquest's announcement. Jun goes on to say that no one in the world of professionals will give Hiyori the grace he wants when he throws these tantrums, as they're no longer in school. Hiyori seems mildly cheered up by the end of it, grateful that Jun was able to portray his thoughts in a more eloquent way than he would've when they'd met.
3 Episode 2 Spring
Ibara is preparing dinner for himself and Nagisa in the Seisoukan common room, but Nagisa seems contemplative, telling Ibara to sit- and when he doesn't comply, Nagisa uses his "lecture mode" tone which causes Ibara to obey instantly, stating his life would be in danger if he didn't. With a bit of prompting from Ibara, Nagisa explains that he is worried about Hiyori, who has always been sunny and pleasant, yet was so angry not too long ago. Ibara states that Hiyori's actions cannot be explained by him and suggests Nagisa ask the other man himself, as they are separate people, but that Hiyori seems incredibly straightforward and up-front with his feelings. Ibara does a small thought experiment with Nagisa to help him understand that Hiyori isn't trying to attack him, and is trying to avoid exactly that; He explains that, if Hiyori were to give Nagisa cheese every day and suddenly stop, this doesn't constitute an attack. It's simply a lack of an action, which helps Nagisa grasp the concept of Hiyori's upset better, understanding that it wasn't directed at him but at the idea of Conquest. Nagisa seems assured by this, and states that he trusts Ibara's judgement.
